Amy’s Song-Brent Anderson (Sea Gayle/Arista)

It’s a nice touch, dropping in a bit of lyric from the old 70’s song by the Pure Prairie League. Vince Gill was in the group for a while, but that was after they’d charted in ’75 with “Amie”. I didn’t much like this record at first. The guy sounds, well, kinda’ dorky. Reminded me of that guy on the stairs in ‘Animal House’ who’s guitar gets confiscated and smashed by Belushi. And musicians singing about tryin’ to pick up chicks backstage, well, that just ain’t real-world enough for most of us. But, I listened and listened again. And the PPL stanza is gettin’ to me.
