Another Sunday in the South-Miranda Lambert (Platinum)(RCA)

It debuted #1 in the album sales charts. I tracked it first time driving the interstate north to Dallas and was really, really pleased. She’s not made a weak album, puts lots of quality into her collections. This one, however, is her most confident, robust aggregation of songs. There are five songs I can hear as radio singles, but the cut I think we should immediately get to our listeners ears is Another Sunday In The South, possibly the most perfect Country-and-Western Song of the nano-second. It’s comforting. You know the song immediately, it’s family, mentioning all those songs and singers from the past. This is a summertime record, it’ll sound as good when ice is on the dog dish, but it resonates the best with hot weather and loose clothes. I want to hear this a lot right now.
