Detroit Made-Bob Seger (Capitol)

The label serviced it to Country radio today (8/15). That’s Country Radio, understand. Nobody’ll bat an eye. They probably won’t play it, but they’ll not be surprised at it being serviced to ‘em. This is where we’ve come to. Flat-out Southern Rock is co-opting a good part of the real estate. Now, I know where he’s from really, but he’s got the vibe, you know it. I love Seger. He gave me three of the greatest songs that ever hit me in the gut. This record could’ve been recorded in the 70’s and I wouldn’t know it. Only it don’t sound like the A-side of a 70’s single. That’s a bit of a problem. The lyric run at the three minute mark is pretty cool, though
