Just about everybody who’s tracked her excellent album has picked this as the stand-out cut. Kacey wanted it for the second single, I read. She might’ve wanted it for the first single for all I know. But I do expect this will be the biggest hit off the album. You just can’t listen to this song and not feel good about it. It is an ode to individuality, be your own self. Who can argue with that? And it’s got a hook that begs you to begin humming along the very first time it comes into your ears. I love this record.
