He’s back in Clancy’s Tavern with this one, this time working as the bartender himself, observing the patrons, telling some stories about them. The writing here is really quite wonderful. In just a couple of lines, we get a profile and idea of state of the souls of each of the people he talks about. I’m still sorry that Clancy’s Tavern wasn’t released as a single, it was so much more interesting than the last couple of beer drinkin’ ditties he chose instead. This one almost makes up for that disappointment.
