I saw that title and just cringed. Gawd, this is gonna be awful! Big pleasant surprise! His debut single shoulda’ been a hit; great song. This oughta kick the career into gear. First off it’s got a groove that gives me a vision of the “keep on truckin’” hipster cartoon characters from the 70s, you know, those guys with their big feet and long legs way out in front of ’em? Those guys would stroll down the boulevard to a beat like this one. Second off, the lyric cool the way it builds the scene, adding one layer on top then another on top of that. Starts off thinkin’ about ignoring the No Trespassing sign and doin’ some off-road rambling down thru the woods. Then the tailgate is down and the cooler is opened. Then the girl in the red dress is there. Then it’s 2am and time for skinny dippin’. All them fantasies that keep a boy semi-sane, lookin’ forward to a better day.
