It’s been a while since I stepped up to have three album cuts in recommended Currents rotation; we got us some great music on these new albums just achin’ to be heard. Trace, Miranda, Lady A, Pistol Annies, Brad…thar’s gold in them thar grooves. “Chief” is a solid pleasure, start to finish. This song is an ode to our young loves and the contribution those Springsteen songs made to that joy. Really, I can’t imagine this not being a hit song, whether it becomes a radio single or not. It will mean quite a lot to anyone who ever attended a Springsteen event or even just hugged and kissed with his songs playing on the car radio.
