The Co-Vid Listenership Decline

Here’s the story from CNBC Pop Radio In Decline

Two quick thoughts about this. First, Oldies always does better as a format in times of economic downturn. Second, who’d want to ever listen to an iHeart station at home? Considering Edison Media’s report from last year that the average commuter switches stations constantly, constantly, constantly during the drive. The programming coming at them is in no way satisfying. Station-switching is even more pronounced for the ‘music’ stations than with talk. People always want to hear great music. It’s what’s between the records that truly sucks.
