In another age, this would’a been called Progressive Rock. Never much a fan for ProgRock, myself. Not enough satisfying hooks to be found there. This one does have a hook, of sorts. Certainly not a traditional one, cause you probably won’t be humming it when you’re not listening to it. But when it’s coming through the spearkers, it creates its own space an atmosphere. As a listener, I don’t care for it much. As a programmer, I see it can’t be ignored. In three weeks, it has sold just under 200,000 digital singles. Last week it moved 32k, this week it more than doubled that number to 79k. When they vote with their pocketbooks, gotta pay attention.
