Last March, I stopped for coffee and comfort at Buc-Ee’s on I-45 halfway between Houston and Dallas. Best rest-stops I’ve ever been in, those Buc-Ee’s. The super-clean johns have Cowboy artwork hanging all about; over-priced, but cool. The place is huge and always packed. I was wearing a sweat-shirt I’ve had for over 20 years with “Sawyer Brown” across the chest. The group and Scott Borchetta were two who always gave out the highest quality items at Christmas time, so the sweatshirt still looks good. Lady behind the counter said: “Now that was a great group. Whatever happened to them.” I said: “Still making records, just not having hits on the radio anymore.” Here’s one that might bring ’em back, the best they’ve released in years. It’s a Harley Allen song that I first heard years ago, don’t remember who was singing that version. Sawyer does a fine job with it.
