Sam Hunt showed how to do this new thang and do it right. Yeah, it’s rap but then no it’s not. Not exactly. It’s a whole lot better than rap-as-we-have-known-it. There’s a good melody weaving through this and he doesn’t sound angry or nasty. I figure folks on the far side of 40 may have a bit of trouble with it (’tain’t Country, McGhee) but every white child under 30 grew up with rap and most of ’em like the stuff. Those folks are wowed by Sam Hunt and this one is fruit off the same tree. And is just as sweet.
