In the early 90’s, the phrase TurboTwang was coined and applied to Garth and Brooks & Dunn and others in the New Hot Country movement. They were very fresh and exciting. We’ve got some of that energy being revived now. Eric Church’s album is but one of several good examples. This record’s certainly got some juice. The beat is about as thumpin’ and heavy as the one in the new Underwood song, but unlike hers, this’ll never be a candidate for a cross-over to another format. It’s got its Twang on. Solid! Exciting!
